Welcome to my Home page!

Pictured here I am 32 years old and standing on Prospect Street in Galena, IL at the top of the high school steps over looking town in February 1985. Vivian took the picture a year and a half before we started dating in September 1986.

I started learning how to build a web site using html code in 2002 with the help of my great friend Gail Peirce. I stopped working on my web site about 10 years ago when I started my Facebook page. I have grown to dislike Facebook and closed the page February 2017.

So I'M BACK working on my web site again. I hope you have the time to check out the other pages that I have built and linked to this page. To see my other pages click the links on the left side or just click on the pictures because I have made them links also.

Should you have any questions or comments please contact me by clicking on the e-mail link on the left side of the page. Enjoy Mark.

Art work

My new winter Christmas card for 2017

This is a picture of my new winter Christmas card for 2017. The subject of this painting is a Sears catalog home known as the Riverside, built about 1937 and located in Geneva, IL.

The original artwork of my winter painting is a 9” X 12” on Aches Aquarelle hot pressed 140 lb watercolor paper. The medium is black ink line and watercolor wash.

I’m a hobby artist and love relaxing with a pencil in hand drawing. I have started adding some of my art work to this site.

I always take my pencil pack on vacations and find time to sit and draw.

Click on the picture of the shotgun houses to see some of my pencil drawings and water color paintings. I will add more pictures when time allows.

Click on the picture of the ”Dancing Pigs”
to see more of my snow sculptures.

In 1999 I was introduced to snow sculpting by Len Butte of Sycamore, IL.

To see some of my snow creations click on the picture of the dancing pigs and read the letter I wrote to the Naperville Illinois Elmwood Elementary School Students. I wrote the letter after they contacted me. My sister Sarah was their art teacher and was planning to have them make some snowmen. In the letter I describe how a snow sculpture is constructed.

In 2004 I was invited to competed in the U. S. National Snow Sculpting competition in Lake Geneva, WI.

I asked Len Butte and Vivian to join me. Len already had a design prepared so we were ready to go. Our artwork was 10” tall and 7’ wide and we named the piece “World of Humanity”.
